Everyone wants to talk about IG Reels, but let’s not forget the TRUE unsung hero of your biz:

⚡️IG Stories.⚡️

While Reels are awesome because IG is actively pushing your Reels out to new people daily - IG stories are STILL where you’re actually going to SELL people on your products + services.

I think of Reels as the invitation to come into the store - but IG stories are where people are actually deciding “I’d like to buy something here”.

In fact - if I only had ONE way of posting on Instagram ever again, I would still choose Instagram stories over Reels, lives, or feed content.

Here’s why:

Human behavior (and what performs well) on social media has shifted over time, but one thing we’re ALWAYS craving in the online space is AUTHENTICITY + TRANSPARENCY.

We’re also nosey AF 😜 and like to know what everyone is doing with their day, what they’re eating, what they’re wearing, and what’s happening “behind the scenes”.

And that’s what IG stories really provides for people: behind the scenes of YOU as a leader and human.

IG stories is the EASIEST place to show up and just be yourself. No overly-curated photos, no “perfect” words… just you, in your human-ness (which is what makes you interesting), and your “real life”.

That’s what people want.

I’ve found that a LOT of coaches feel really vulnerable and “cringe” on IG stories - they don’t know what to say, how to show up, and what to do in order to get their audience interested in their offers, while also being real + authentic.

These numbers might feel SO out of reach at the moment… but remember that in each of these examples, we’re generally talking about anywhere between 15 - 45 higher ticket clients, the rest being low ticket offers that anyone can afford.

I can almost guarantee that if you’ve been posting health & fitness content to your IG for any stretch of time, you likely have a MINIMUM of 15 people who are:

✔️Struggling with the exact thing you know how to fix
✔️Have disposable income
✔️Are sick & tired of being stuck & frustrated

It’s just a matter of learning how to show up online in the way that brings them closer into your world & your offers (okay, it’s a LITTLE more strategic than that 😉).

Story time:

In 2015, I was making $800 a month at my local gym (swipe to see me in my old 600sq ft apartment).

I actually had a pretty big following on Instagram & YouTube at this time, and I felt like a rockstar for being a "fitness influencer" who ACTUALLY worked at a gym and was a "real coach".

But truth be told - I was often working 12 hour days, and was lucky to bring home $800-1000 at the end of the month after the gym took their cut from my training packages.

I remember my husband and I re-working our budget (for the millionth time), and him saying - "For this budget to work, I need you to find a way to bring in $1500 a month."

My heart sank.

I thought… There’s no WAY I could make $1500 a month. I was hustling hard at the gym trying to even reach $1000.

I was an uneducated college dropout. I thought only people with masters degrees could make real money.

Even though I was a CPT, I had serious imposter syndrome - there was no WAY I could be one of those trainers making $50k a year or more.

But in June 2015, I decided I was done playing small.

I was done dreaming about having an amazing coaching business, and I was ready to put in the work.

I remember hitting "post" on that first Instagram post offering my coaching services online, and literally feeling SICK with anticipation, anxiety and fear.

What if no one cared? What if no one wanted my coaching? What if I just embarrassed myself?

I know that feeling. I know that fear you feel today. I felt it myself.

But I am so grateful to myself for taking that leap of faith and being willing to take a chance on myself and my dreams.

Because it's led me to where I am right now - in my office of my beautiful home (that I never could have afforded before coaching), making 2-3x more money in a DAY than I used to make in a month, working with clients I'm OBSESSED with and have a blast helping them get incredible results...

👀What’s REALLY getting people to want to work with coaches online?

What does it REALLY take for someone to decide, “Yep. I MUST work with this coach. She’s the perfect coach for me & I can’t WAIT to hire her.”

Is it by being the most affordable coach?

Or being the fittest coach?

Is it by being the coach with the most followers or sponsorships?

Or wait… it’s the coaches with the most certifications & degrees, right?

What if I said it’s NONE of those things? 👀

Seriously. NONE of those are the reasons people spend $250+ a month on a fitness coach.

Here’s what makes someone pull the trigger on a high-ticket fitness coach:

1️⃣ They are CONVINCED that you will be able to help them - whether it’s because of how you talk about the work you do or the testimonials you’ve shared online - people who hire high-ticket coaches ONLY do it when they’re convinced that you hold the codes to cracking their problems.

How well are you creating content that’s convincing your audience that YOU are an amazing coach that can get people the EXACT results they want?

2️⃣ They TRUST you - and believe it or not, having a big audience or a bodybuilding trophy does NOT equate to automatic trust (in fact, many times either one of those things can deter people!).

People hire people that they trust and truly believe, “This person is a good, high-quality coach who knows her stuff and will take care of me.”

Are you real with your audience? Putting enough of yourself out there for people to get to know you? Proving that you are who you say you are & can do what you say you can do?

If your audience feels like that about you, you’ll get clients consistently ✨

Listen… it’s HARD to get this messaging just right - and most coaches are so afraid of sounding “braggy”, looking stupid, or just outright lack the confidence to show up like this - and so they’ll NEVER be able to emulate these things online.

Unless they get help. 😘

The coaches I work with rarely start out confident - but they BECOME confident when they’re handed strategy that WORKS.

Diet culture is only getting bigger and stronger and more predatory. For every 10 girls starting the cabbage soup diet today, there’s 1 coach hiding her life-changing solutions because she thinks she’s not needed.

On the contrary, girl - there’s more people out there needing help than there are coaches to help them 🤷‍♀️
